A few comments, suggestions, and ideas for the industry….
We recently went down to Seattle, participating in the BC Wood sponsored WoodTALKS architects Lunch and Learn. BC Wood member companies including; Daizan Joinery, VanAir Design, Woodtone, Scottywood, and Live Edge Design, participated in this two-day event. Members presented to a group of 28 architects and design professionals, reviewing the manufacturing capabilities in 1/2 hour AIA accredited presentations.

The work in organizing this event is significant, as all the presentations must be approved by American Institute of Architects weeks before the event. Member companies provided an overview of what they wanted to present, and Roy Manion did an excellent job in guiding the companies through the process of getting their presentations approved. If you are chasing the architectural market and wanting to develop sales into the Pacific Northwest, the WoodTALKS program provides this opportunity.

To add extra value to the program, the following day we had meetings with a number of key builders in the Seattle market, delivering direct presentations and learning about the projects that they are currently working on.
