The North American Wholesale Lumber Association (NAWLA) was founded 127 years ago and is comprised of three unique groups: Wholesalers, Manufacturers and Service Affiliates. Wholesalers make up most of the membership, followed by manufacturers such as BC wood mills and Service Affiliates that cover everything from logistics to HR and IT services. Since 1996, the association has hosted an annual trade show called the Traders Market, which focuses almost exclusively on the lumber supply chain. The next Traders Market will be held this November 9-11th in Phoenix, Arizona.

The Trader’s Market is a fantastic opportunity for the unique membership groups to connect with each other on the tradeshow floor through networking events and keynote presentations. Due to pandemic related regulations, the event was unable to happen in person in 2020. In 2021, the association was able to bring back a smaller event in Louisville and are now excited to host a full event this year. Executive Director, Scott Parker, states that “people are starting to come back and feel good about it”! With boarders opening and restrictions lifting, attendance at the event is expected to be high.

Registration for the event is open with an early bird discount available until July 29th. Discounted hotel rates are also available in limited supply after registration, so early registration is highly encouraged. Information on the 2022 NAWLA Traders Market such as speakers, exhibitors and the program schedule, is available at: https://www.nawla.org/page/2022-traders-market-registration.

BC Wood is excited to be working closer than every before with NAWLA. We will be making efforts to increase representation from BC companies at the Traders Market, particularly of companies who have not participated in the past. If you’re interested in attending the event with BC Wood, please contact Dave Farley at [email protected] and/or Brian Hawrysh at [email protected]. NAWLA is also making their members aware of opportunities to participate at the Global Buyers Mission occurring in Whistler, BC from September 8 to 10, 2022.
