Allows for designs of openness and light
Profile
Hamill Creek Timber Homes is
located in south central British
Columbia, Canada at the head of
Kootenay Lake. For the past 15
years, Hamill Creek has been
building high quality timber frame
homes for clients throughout
Canada, the Continental United
States and Hawaii.
Timber framing is a form of post
and beam construction in which
round or square timbers are
connected together using
interlocking wooden joinery. Timber
frames are built using large timbers
at wide intervals. The posts and
beams form a self-supporting
frame, which carries all the weight
of the floors and roof. The home's
interior walls bear no structural
load and allows for designs of
openness and light by
accommodating large windows.
